Finance
The Finance Committee, headed by the Treasurer, works in conjunction with all the other Committees of the Rotaract club to find ways to fund our projects.
We don't rattle tins on streets; when we do fundraise then we try to choose a form that gives something back to the person donating the money, whether it is something tangible like selling them a hotdog or chocolates, or by way of a good time at a Quiz Night or Movie Night.
On occasions we partner with Rotary clubs, and raise money by assisting with their community fairs and swap marts, and with parking at major events.
In the past, we used to raise money recycling cans at our own "Cash for Cans" depot every week, however that came to an end when the company paying us went bankrupt!
We don't have any paid staff - all Rotaractors are volunteers, so 100% of the money raised from the public is spent back in the community on our projects.
Happy Dollars
We cover some of our administrative costs through an optional "Happy Dollars" session at the end of our regular meetings.
Happy Dollars allow members and guests to make a gold coin donation to share some happy news with the rest of us, a fun reversal of the Fines session common in many other clubs.
