Tree Planting
The members of the Rotaract Club of South Perth love tree planting! So much so that we make a point of doing it every year, usually in late July or August. We typically link up with a Rotary Club, and we participated in the Hotham-Williams Western Power Greening Challenge before it was completed in 2002.
Murdoch University 2007
With no Rotary tree planting projects happening that we knew of, we decided to resume finding other tree planting initiatves to tap into.
After accidentally leaving it too late several years in a row to be able to join other tree planting activities near Perth, half our club volunteered to help a tree planting effort at Murdoch University on 7th July 2007.
Greening the Freeway in 2003
On the 15th of June 2003, we joined Rotary clubs throughout Western Australia to plant trees along the Kwinana and Mitchell freeways.

Tree Planting in Northam in 2002 and 2000
Northam is a small town about 100 km east of Perth. On the mornings of 25th August 2000 and 27th July 2002 we travelled out to Northam and helped Rotarians from the Rotary Clubs of South Perth and Northam, as well as other locals, plant native saplings, before returning to Perth after lunch. In 2000 we planted over 1200 trees along the Avon River.

Hotham-Williams Western Power Greening Challenge 1999 and 2001
In August 1999 and 2001, we joined the Greening Challenge and went tree planting with Western Power in the town of Williams, 161 km south east of Perth.
In 2001 our group spent the day planting about 5,000 trees. The Challenge was completed in 2002, with 4 million seedlings having been planted in the 6 years the Challenge was open.
