Member & Board Inductions in 2005/2006

This year we are continuing to meet at the South Perth Learning Centre. It's a fantastic location for going out for a drink or bite to eat afterwards!

Our club started the year with 10 members, and ended with 8 members.

See inductions in another year: 2000/01 - 2001/02 - 2002/03 - 2003/04 - 2004/05 - 2005/06 - 2006/07 - 2007/08 - 2008/09

Sara Pieruzzini

Originally a Rotaractor in Italy, Sara contacted us via email in April 2005 to arrange to meet us while she visited Perth for 3 months from the end of May.

Sara ended up getting a job here, and her three month stay was extended until the end of September, and then until February... and now it looks like Sara is here to stay! President Richard Taylor inducted her as an honorary member of our club on the 16th November 2005, but upon hearing that she wasn't returning home after all, Sara became a full member in January 2006.

Yukiko "Kikki" Kitazawa

A Japanese girl working in Perth, Kikki discovered us in October 2005, and was inducted as a member of the Rotaract Club of South Perth by President Richard Taylor on 2nd November 2005. Unbenownst to us at that time, Kikki was only staying in Perth temporarily, and we sadly farewelled her at the end of February 2006.

During Kikki's time with us, we had the pleasure of hosting two visiting Rotaractors from Japan. We hope to hear soon which Rotaract Club Kikki decides to join in Japan upon her safe arrival home.

Peter Barrenger, Maggie Duggan and Aaron Cummings

Peter, Maggie and Aaron were all inducted as members of the Rotaract Club of South Perth by President Richard Taylor on the 5th October 2005.

Peter first started participating in Rotaract activities in July 2004, but classes on Wednesday nights precluded him from attending regularly until the latter half of 2005.

We first met Maggie in June 2005, and Aaron in August.

Peter left the club in early 2006 when his partner Kym was no longer able to attend due to classes clashing with the Rotaract meeting. Maggie left in early 2007 due to ill health, and has since become a Rotarian in the Booragoon club.

Aaron served as club President in 2006/07, but had to cut his term short by a few days as he moved to the Seychelles in June 2007!

Rotaract Club of South Perth Board of Directors

The 2005/2006 Board of the Rotaract Club of South Perth was officially inducted a couple of months earlier than usual, at the Changeover Night held on the 27th of May 2005, at the request of a couple of members (and Rotarians!) who would be travelling in the first week of July after the Rotary International Convention & Rotaract Preconvention.

From left to right: Simone Collins (Treasurer), Richard Taylor (President), Kym Gaggin (Vice President), and Veronica Grasso (Secretary).
